Japan’s GDP grows 4.1% annualized, beats forecasts

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) — Japan’s economy grew 1.0% during the January-March quarter, or 4.1% on an annualized basis, official data showed Thursday, with the results beating expectations for a 3.5% annualized gain, according to separate Dow Jones Newswires and Reuters surveys. China to increase land supply for low-cost housing

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) — China plans to double the amount of land made available for residential property development this year from the average supply over the previous five years, as it seeks to accelerate the build out of affordable housing, according to a Wednesday report by the Xinhua news agency.
